TECHNICOLOR CUTENESS: Give your pooch a pop of color

Those who revel in the transformative effect of a new hair color can share that feel-good experience with their four-legged friends at Citydog Club's Westside style bars.

Enter either of the pristine dog-park-and-grooming facilities in Culver City and West Los Angeles and ask for Jamee, who shuttles between both sites. She's the canine color expert who offers an off-the-menu dye job (from $20) that transforms pooches from cute to Technicolor cute.  

Jamee uses two kinds of nontoxic, non-heat-activated coloring systems; one involves sidewalk chalk, which is suggested for experimenting with new looks or for temporary color. For semi-permanent looks, she employs Top Performance Hair Dye Gels in a rainbow of colors. (Screaming Pink is the top choice.) 

For male dogs, Jamee has created dip-dyed Mohawks, chest streaks and a seasonal rear-hip Christmas tree stencil. Female dog styles include matching ombré ears and paws, bold bouffant looks, lion manes and tri-toned tails.

After the dye sets, you might want to throw in a $10 aromatherapeutic blueberry facial before a cleansing bath ($35 to $70). A quick blow-dry here, a bow--or feather--there and voilà, Fido is the best in show.
